I live in Swansea, not far from the Gower Peninsular, the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

I am almost entirely self taught, so I have learnt what I do today from years of experimenting with embroidery.

When I am not sewing, I love walks to the beach and the many local parks, watching films such as Se7en, Name of the Rose, Into the Wild and Stigmata while acting as an electric blanket for my feline army who also like to closely supervise my work.​

The darker side of life fascinates me, urban decay, the way the mind works (or doesn’t) and forensic pathology all wrapped up in a cosy blanket of industrial metal music from bands such as Combichrist, Rammstein and Nine Inch Nails

 My pieces are made from almost entirely recycled materials. I believe they add more to a piece in terms of the stories the fabrics can tell with almost a resonance from their history. Sun-bleached prayer flags from my canal boat, lace from antique linen and even objects washed up on the beach are just some of the objects stitched into my work.

 Making things has been a huge part of my life since I first picked up a sewing needle when I was five, it all started with a cross stitch snowflake.
